15 minutes of stories, rhymes & songs followed by open playtime. Babies up to 24 months. No older siblings.

Pittsfield, Tuesdays 6:30-7:30 PM (no playgroup on Jun. 19)

New Children's books in German!

We have several new children's books in German which will be available soon. They will be distributed between the branches and you can find them on the foreign language shelves. You can also put a hold on the books through the on-line catalog and have them delivered to the branch of your choice. Remember that new foreign language books now have "NEW" stickers on them to distinguish them from other books in the collection. En Espanol/In Spanish: Chronicles of Narnia Books!

The library recently purchased Spanish translations of the popular "Chronicles of Narnia" series by C.S. Lewis. There will be copies of "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe/El Leon, la Bruja y el Ropero" at all branches and copies of all other titles at the Downtown Branch on both the Adult and Youth Foreign Language Collection shelves. Ask a staff member if you have trouble locating these areas. You can also put a HOLD on any of these books via your account in the online catalog. Baby Bits - Dance Into April !

Join us at Malletts Creek Branch Library on Saturday, April 7, at 11:00 am for Mother Goose Singing and Dancing Games with musicians "Miss Sara" Melton-Keller and "Banjo Betsy" Beckerman.
Every year, April means Dancing Babies at the Library.
Dancing Babies celebrates "Month of the Young Child" AND the Library's partnership with First Steps Washtenaw. Both organizations care deeply about young families and early literacy. Come and lift your knees to the notes.

Happiness In! Demon Out!

We will be tossing beans to keep those demons away and celebrate Setsubun, at our Japanese Family Cultural Celebration this Sunday at 2:00 pm at the Downtown Library. We will begin the festivities with a story and a demon mask craft upstairs, then parade downstairs for music with Miyabi and pocky treats. Families with children of all ages are invited to attend and while you are here, check out Japanese Children’s Favorite Stories and other folktale collections.
