It's all Happenin' on Halloween

Find T Rex and other outrageous costumed creatures when the AADL and the Main Street Area Association partner with a silly storytime and parade on Wednesday, October 31. Come to the Downtown Library at 10:00 am for tales and a costume march around the library. Then head to Main Street at 11:00 a.m. for trick-or-treating. This is a perfect way for the stroller crowd to celebrate.

Smiles and Other Big Mouth Storytime Fun

The Thursday evening Pittsfield storytime will feature How Do You Make a Baby Smile? by Philemon Sturges as well as the old favorite, Monkey Face, and the very silly, noisy Mortimer. Get ready for a roudy last storytime of the session!

Baby Bits - Growing Brains

I'm scouting DVDs for parents with infants. I found a WINNER in Ten Things Every Child Needs For The Best Start In Life. It supports top research without sounding "academic". You see/hear "big names" in childhood development plainly speak to parents about needs of infants. You get to see other cute, cute, CUTE infants, just like your own! The book 125 Brain Games For Babies provides great ideas on how to play with baby. Have FUN!

Baby Bits - NEW !

NEW Books that are perfect for baby lap-reads are The Busy Little Squirrel by Nancy Tafuri; So Sleepy Story by Uri Shulevitz; and A Good Day by Kevin Henkes. They show pictures that baby sees in her world. They have words that sound lovely to say and use and repeat from the driver's seat.
