Also, catch an insider interview with Sophia, a 5th grader, who talks about many of the programs for her age that happened this summer, including Library Lego League, Eggcellent Engineering and a Tween Ice Cream Party.

Hear about TweenSpace, for 4th and 5th graders, on February 5th for Masters of Disguise at the Northeast Branch from 4:30-6 PM. And come back to the Northeast Branch on February 12th for Sock Puppet Theatre.

Preschoolers are invited on February 8th for Music and Motion with the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra at the Downtown library from 9:30-10 AM or 10:30-11 AM. Make Valentines on February 9th at the Pittsfield Branch from 10 AM-12PM and February 10th at the Northeast Branch from 2-4 PM.

Hungry for Storytime?

Rabbit and Dog get just what they want to eat, with a little persistence, in these delicious animal tales at the Wednesday Downtown and Thursday Pittsfield preschool storytimes the first week of February.

Celebrate India!

We can't wait for the India Family Cultural Celebration this Sunday, February 3 at 2:00 pm at the Downtown Library! Join us for storytelling with Rohit and Amanda Setty, Tabla and Sitar music by Meeta Banerjee, John Churchville and Dan Piccolo, delicious gulab jamoon and a colorful rangoli craft that the whole family will enjoy!

Storytime Takes Flight!

The hilarious new picture book, Grumpy Bird, will be joined by a blackbird adventure from India and a crafty trickster rabbit tale from American Indian tradition, when rabbit bounces up through the clouds to steal fire from the sky people, at the Wednesday Downtown and Thursday Pittsfield storytimes.

Meet Jumpity the Rabbit and listen to wintry tales from China and Scandanavia at the Wednesday Downtown storytime and the Thursday Pittsfield storytime this week.

Baby Bits - First Snow

Baby PlayGroup Programs begin this week. Every week there are 6 programs at 4 locations. Join us when you can!
3 great books for winter with babies are Snowballs; Mouse's First Snow; and First Day Of Winter. Then let's make some roly-poly snowballs and itsy-bitsy snowflakes together!

Celebrate!

Laith Alattar kicks off a delightful afternoon on Sunday, December 2nd at 2:00 pm at the Downtown Library with his fabulous instrument, the Oud, for our Arab Family Cultural Celebration. Music, treats donated from Masri Sweets, and a geometric paper rug craft will entertain the whole family.

French Family Cultural Celebration

Join us for the French Family Cultural Celebration on November 4 at 2:00 pm at the Downtown Library for a French sing-along with Isabelle Ryan, a snack of biscuits, a display of French materials and a stained glass window craft!

It's all Happenin' on Halloween

Find T Rex and other outrageous costumed creatures when the AADL and the Main Street Area Association partner with a silly storytime and parade on Wednesday, October 31. Come to the Downtown Library at 10:00 am for tales and a costume march around the library. Then head to Main Street at 11:00 a.m. for trick-or-treating. This is a perfect way for the stroller crowd to celebrate.

Smiles and Other Big Mouth Storytime Fun

The Thursday evening Pittsfield storytime will feature How Do You Make a Baby Smile? by Philemon Sturges as well as the old favorite, Monkey Face, and the very silly, noisy Mortimer. Get ready for a roudy last storytime of the session!
