HOTEL TO DISAPPEAR: The Allenel Hotel, an old landmark in the downtown area, is doomed, according to sources which report that sales agreements for the property and other nearby properties are being drawn up. The deals are about to be revealed, these sources report. A new hotel is planned.

HOTEL DEVELOPERS AND SUPPORTERS: The two developer-owners and five of many supporters of an 11-story, $3,000,000 hotel to be built at E. Huron and S. Fourth Ave. are shown at an Ann Arbor Town Club luncheon yesterday when the go-ahead on the hotel was announced formally. Left to right are Herbert Meyer and Edwin M. Rosenthal Jr., both of Detroit and both developer-owners of the new hotel; Donald Goodrow, assistant vice president of the Detroit Bank & Trust Co.; Mayor Cecil O. Creal; Theodore Dames, former manager of the Allenel Hotel; Frank M. Crandall, senior vice president of the National Bank & Trust Co. of Ann Arbor; and William J. Bott, executive director of the Ann Arbor Chamber of Commerce.
