LAYING FLOOR OF PREFABRICATED CONCRETE HOME: A novel idea in home-building is being undertaken in Ann Arbor this summer with the erection of two prefabricated concrete homes by Cook Floors on Pontiac Rd. The pre-cast concrete panels forming the floor are shown above. When sealed in place, the floor panels will form ducts on their under-surfaces through which hot air can be forced, thus providing radiant heating for the homes.

Grading services were donated by the Washtenaw Asphalt Co. and parents and members of the community have done volunteer work to complete the path. The project, headed by Abbot Principal Don Lyon, resulted from a petition to the Board of Education from parents and the housing commission complaining about the three quarter of a mile walk to Abbot from the area.
