Wireless Internet Access Now Available at the AADL!
AADL now offers both wired and wireless internet access to patrons.
WIRED
Internet access is available at the Downtown Library (on the 2nd floor), and at the Malletts Creek, Traverwood, and Pittsfield Branches.
WIRELESS
Internet access coverage extends throughout all AADL buildings (Downtown, Malletts, Pittsfield, Traverwood, and West), so the service may be used anywhere.
In order to use the wireless service, you must join the wireless network called "AADL".
Registration for wired and wireless access is identical:
If you are using the service for the first time, you must register your device. This is easily done by opening a web browser and attempting to load any page. Your web browser will be redirected to a registration form where you will be prompted for your library card number. Once you enter your library card number, you must wait for up to 60 seconds for the process to be completed. Once completed, you may freely use the service. Library card registrations are valid for 1 year from the date of registration.
If you are a non-cardholder and wish to use the service, you must first visit a technohost station to obtain a guest code to use instead of a library card number. You will need to provide picture ID in order to obtain a guest code. Instructions on how to get a guest code are included on the registration form. Once you have a guest code, you will enter it as though it were a library card number. Guest registrations are valid for 30 days.
Patron internet traffic is neither monitored nor restricted in any way. However, internet speeds are throttled to ensure that no one individual will consume the available bandwidth.
Patrons who are registered using a valid library card number may manage their devices using our Advanced Wifi Management page.
