Pioneer High School Spring Musical: Rent

Theatre Guild at Pioneer High School will present the musical Rent by Jonathan Larson April 25 - May 4. From the AADL website: "A year in the life of a group of friends who love, fight, and laugh together as they face important social issues such as AIDS, homosexuality, drug abuse, and homelessness." Skyline High School in Ann Arbor will present Ken Ludwig's comedic farce Moon Over Buffalo April 25-27. More information is here. The New York Times had this to say about the stage production: "Ken Ludwig is one of those rare contemporary playwrights who thinks in terms of old-fashioned knockabout farce, and that’s something to be cherished."

Performance Network: Richard III Re-imagined

Performance Network Theatre in downtown Ann Arbor will present a reimagined version of William Shakespeare's classic play Richard III from April 24 - June 1. From the PNT website: "... One of Shakespeare’s most famous histories gets an innovative ... treatment in this boldly re-imagined tale of power, treachery, seduction and fate. Performance Network Associate Artistic Director Carla Milarch stars as Richard, the ruthless and conniving Plantagenet, whose ascent to power is littered with corpses. This revolutionary take on the age-old classic explores the themes and fate of gender, power, and government set in the distant yet ominous future." Ticket information is here. MI Bridges Navigation Workshop

Anyone engaged in social service work with families will benefit from attending the April 23 free workshop at Washtenaw ISD, Vogel C, 1819 South Wagner, Ann Arbor, MI 48106, 9:00 am – noon. MI Bridges Navigation Collaborative Learning Opportunity is developed and maintained by the MI Department of Human Services and allows households to apply for food, medical, child care, cash, energy, and non energy assistance, in addition to checking the status of benefits and reporting household changes. This session provides participants an overview of the MI Bridges system and hands on opportunity to use MI Bridges with sample cases. It is recommended for outreach workers, case managers, program coordinators, family support parents, service coordinators; anyone working with families should attend. This event is FREE and intended for adults and teens grade 6 and up

Spring is here, but after this tough winter, most of us are still trying to chase the winter blues away - and yoga can help! Join us for a clarifying and detoxifying yoga set with local yoga instructor Victoria Duranona. We will learn about how yoga can be used to detoxify the body, mind and emotions, while cleansing the blood through breathing and movement.

Please note: Bring your own mat or towel to sit/lay on and dress comfortably for the workout.
