One of my favorite things about this book is its lyrical quality. No matter how sad the book gets, its beautiful prose helps get you through. The book follows several black characters in South Africa as they work for equal rights. They experience setbacks, betrayals, and disappointments, but they strength and justice of their cause never wavers.
