Based on Jerome K. Jerome's hilarious 19th century novel "Three Men in a Boat (To Say Nothing of the Dog)," this book by Connie Willis is also funny and a brilliant read. Willis' book features several time-travelling historian from an Oxford University far in the future as they try to find an object they beleive was destroyed in World War II and try to save cats for the future. This is one of my favorite books by Willis and part of her larger series on time-travelling historians that includes the (not-humerous) "Doomsday" and "Blackout."
