This book is full of pictures of many of Detroit's once gorgeous buildings which are now in ruin. The photography is stunning, though haunting. It's hard to believe all of this sits untouched, and so close to home!
African Royalty Visits AADL
AADL is proud to welcome two members of African Royalty who will offer their perspectives on the culture of their country in this special lecture.
Nana Kwadwo Nyantakyi III (Sanaahene or Chief of the Treasury in the Asante Kingdom) and Nana Afia Adoma II (Queen of Antoa-Krobo in the Asante Kingdom) will discuss African Akan and Asante culture at the Downtown Library at 7 pm, on Wednesday, September 24.
