Honestly Disturbing

I don't like to write negative reviews, but in the case of this movie, I can't help it. I guess I should've known what I was in for after seeing the other movies (watched purely for comedic value, of which there is a LOT). 'Hey, it'll be good for another laugh,' I thought. This was not the case. Instead, I wound up traumatized for life. I didn't read past the first book, so I guess maybe if I had, I'd know more what was coming. But I had no idea. No idea at all. This was seriously some of the most disturbing stuff I have ever seen in my life. If you set aside the "troubled pregnancy" aspect where the main character wastes away to a skeleton, you still have the incredibly graphic and gory birth scene which uses more blood than a Tarantino movie and the most over-the-top, disgusting birth method of all time. I just kept wondering, 'was all this really necessary?' 'why wasn't there any warning that this would take such a horrifying twist?' and above all, I couldn't stop thinking about how the girl going through all this was supposed to only be 18 years old, and this is being shown to young girls all over the world. If this is your thing, fine, but personally I was scarred for life, and I felt the need to warn others who might be unprepared as I was.
