This story was really, really interesting and kept me turning pages to see what came next. I'm new to the Artemis Fowl series, but people have been recommending it for years and now I see why. The story involves a race of fairies who live in a maze of tunnels underground, the only place the humans haven't found yet. Artemis Fowl is a 12-year-old criminal mastermind who has one goal: restoring his family name by acquiring lots of wealth. To do this, he will target the fairies and their stash of gold. The story is told from two different viewpoints, so that you can't help but sympathize with the characters on both sides of the conflict. A must-read for fans of fantasy, sci-fi, or fairy tales.
