This story is a lot of whimsical fun with a little salty whaling flavor. If you've ever read The Wolves of Willoughby Chase you should definitely give this book a try too, but even if you haven't it can stand alone as a great family read. Kids who like historical fiction will love it and it's got an element of steampunk to it too. Dido is a character girls and boys will want for a leader in their adventures.
