Handsome Furs is an electronic rock duo with strong blues riff underpinnings. Their frenetic stage energy comes across better on Face Control than their previous record, Plague Park, and Boeckner's anxious earnestness that was so much a part of Wolf Parade's success, is just as welcome here. He lands somewhere between David Byrne and Ian Curtis in both delivery and ability to write a solid hook.
