A decent read for a debut novel. Written by a local author, Bad Things Happen is set here in Ann Arbor as well as some other nearby towns. This alone makes it a fun read, as well as the character descriptions: the book is cast with a group of people so literary minded that you can easily picture many neighbors and acquaintances as stand ins. Not bad.
