It is must have for violin beginners of suzuki method. It follows the book that you can get separately. Very helpful to play in the car or at home to help tune the ear to violin sound and music. Some may find the CD a little fast to follow as it moves from one song to another fairly quickly but you can always replay and practice. There is no extra instrumental. If you search for 'Suzuku Violin Book 1' there are many youtube video by violinist Kevin Yen who follows this book page by page. I found it helpful. You may still need a teacher or someone to show you finger positions.

It is a very good guide to have in hand when you are observing birds. It has a list of all the possible birds you can find in Michigan and other states nearby. It is highly recommended for elementary students who are participating feathered friends event at WESO. But nothing beats allaboutbirds.org website of Cornell Lab of Ornithology. The website helps you recognize bird calls and bird songs along with video footage of birds which were very helpful. I found the combination of Peterson's guide along with Cornell website very helpful in learning about birds.

What drew me to this book is the bold illustrations even though the bird looks kind of weird. This can be a good introductory book for those who are just starting to read graphic novels. In some pages there is no clear demarcation between one scene to another. So it can be a bit confusing when two different conversations take place on the same page. It has a simple story. Polarhog (whatever animal that is) and Barry the bird are friends. One day polarhog knocks on Barry's door and takes him out on a surprise. After going on a what is seemingly a pointless walk with some hats and ice cream what comes in the end is a surprise that Barry did not expect at all.

If you like Backyardigan songs then you'll love this DVD. It is a compilation of some popular songs from this children's series from Nick Jr. My kids loved it.
All about popcorn

Good history of popcorn for kids. Not much of a story. While one boy is setting up to make some popcorns, another boy reads out loud the history of popcorn. It even has two recipes at the end.
