This book is a quick summer read, perfect for the beach. Sometimes, it takes dying to turn your life around.
I was disappointed with this book. Though parts were interesting, on the whole it went on for too long. I have always loved Cleopatra, but I was unable to even finish this, I couldn't make it past page 700. If you are looking for a historical fiction based in Egypt, I would recommend Michelle Moran's Nefertiti over this.
Michelle Moran outdoes herself in this historical fiction. From the perspective of Cleopatra Selene, we experience the life of a young woman torn from her homeland and forced to live among her conquerors. Beautifully written, and expansive in its detail it is never dull, and I found myself wanting more.
Dogma is my favorite of all of Kevin Smith's movies. Though I wouldn't recommend it to those who are highly religious, this film is laugh out loud funny while giving interesting twists on the Catholic norm.
This book was highly entertaining, blending humor, action, and Celtic lore into a fast paced urban fantasy. I don't usually enjoy male protagonists, but Atticus drew me into his world almost effortlessly. There were moments where the modernity jarred me out of the world a bit, but these moments were few and far between and didn't retract from the enjoyment of the book as a whole. Nice way to spend a few hours.
