If you stop and think about what is happening in the story, you will realize that is it impossible, but while reading you become so immersed in the story that you forget rationality, and truly believe. Giant rats, bats, and cockroaches seem real, and the pale-skinned underlanders seem normal. Great towering cities of stone, and pitch black tunnels become customary. This book, and entire series is absorbing. I guarantee that after this book, you will want to read them all. For those of you Hunger Games fans, same author, equally great novel.
LOVE IT!!!

I was waiting for this book for so long. As a long time AF fan, I was dying to read this. When I got it from amazon I wasn't disappointing. I liked the general plot, and loves that Artemis is afflicted with something so common as OCD. Mulch Diggums adds the perfect touch of humor to this already awesome novel. Although the plot lines are becoming a little clique, I love them all the same. FOUR FOUR FOUR FOUR!!! Artemis would hate that. Orion is my new (well I guess temporary) favorite character. He is so innocent and clueless that is is hilarious.
Amazing!

Artemis fowl is probably one of my favorite books. I am 12 years old, and I have a list of books that I re-read at the start of every school year. This list fluctuates but Artemis Fowl has made the list for four years in a row. I own the book and will read it many more times. Even thought we all know this is a fantasy story, while you are reading it is hard not to believe everything is possible and or true. I think throughout the series the characters' personalities are developed greatly, and they form some unexpected relationships. After I read this book for the first time, I couldn't decide If I wanted to be Captain Holly Short, or Artemis, but I knew that I wanted to be a part of the story. I would highly recommend this book to anyone between the ages of 8 and 13. I hope that anyone who read this will continue with the series, as it only gets better.
