I thought this book was kind of weird... people are probably going to jump down my throat b/c it's a science fictions classic, but the tone is kind of preachy, and the way you see the world through the characters eyes is a little freaky. I can't say I'm a fan. It's slow to get started and stayed pretty slow the whole time. I'm not sure why I slogged the whole way through it, after the number of times I had previously started it without success.

This book is so amazingly lyrical and beautifully written. If you have any appreciation for wonderful use of description or inventiveness, this is a book for you. The story is entrancing and magical. Totally worth checking out!

Fluid, musical writing... reminiscent of "The Heart of Darkness". The jungle seems alive. Great plot with wonderful characters.

I really like fantasy books, but this one was way too weird for me.

This one's my favorite Sookie Stackhouse book. I love Eric in this! He's adorable.
