Wow... this was a book that had me hooked! Hey, that rhymes. Anyway, this book takes place in the future, and it's amazing to imagine that hovercrafts could be dominating the air and that our fresh water supply has been so polluted that it can be compared to black slime. Matt, a clone of a dangerous drug lord, is in for a horrifying and eye-opening adventure, while you (the reader) are taken along for the ride. I'm not going to give too much away, because this is just one of those books you have to read yourself to enjoy it.
Again, I read this book in English; and I thought it was quite strange. The author, George Orwell, has a gift- not everyone can take real people and transform their personalities into those of animals. Even though this book was sort of weird, I couldn't put it down. It's kind of like knowing a person who's really weird and funny but is still interesting.
I thought this book would be boring and stupid because I had to read it for English, and almost all the books we read this year in that class were boring and stupid. But this one surprised me- it was far from boring, and it taught me a great lesson: don't judge someone until you know them very well. I could relate to Scout and Jem and possibly all the characters in this book, except for Mrs. Dubose, who was an old witch. I would recommend this book to anyone, old or young. It is truly a classic because it was written a long time ago, but people today can still understand the message given by this book. Harper Lee is an extremely talented author.
