Who knew Ben Affleck was supposed to be behind the camera? and that his little brother is a MUCH more talented actor? I remember I liked Casey in Good Will Hunting but ....wow his performance here is Oscar worthy in my book. Don't miss this one....unless you can't handle "Mystic River" style reality/violence......if thats the case skip this one because it's pretty hardcore.

your gonna like this. I loved this movie, it's not for the faint of heart, it doesn't follow any of the rules that constrain the creativity and passion of major releases these days. It's an intersting story played out in graphic and sometimes horrifying detail. Guy Pearce is excellent as usual and with the exception of the older brother i can't think of any mediocre performances.The movie "feels" right..... late 1800's Austrailia strikes as a place that you will be glad you were born to late to visit. 2 thumbs up 4.5 stars....this new system needs 1/2 points.
