I love hardy but I had a hard time getting through this book. though the character of Jude was interesting the female lead I foiund tedious and I had no sympathy fo their incestouis love affair. the climaxing scene with the death of Judes children was brutal and left me scarred. Not for the faint of heart. Read far from the madding cowd. it's a hit
NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART

IF YOU LIKE HADY EAD THIS BOOK. i THINK HIS BEST FO CHAACTER DEVELOPMENT AN THE FEEL OF UAL WESSEX LIFE. yOU'L WANT TO BECOME A SHEPARD AFTER YOU'RE FINISHED EADING. I WISH i COULD TRAVEL BACK TO THE LANDSCAPES OF THE REGION HE DESCIBES. lIKE MOST HARDY NOVELS THE STOY ERUPTS INTO CLIMAX AND SETTLES DOWN TO HAPPILY EVER AFTER.

The story of a young mans adventures hitch-hiking across the USA it is a nice middle of the road Keroauc novel. A great place to stat in your Keroauc adventure. It is probably the least offencisve in terms of content (language and adult situations)and has been widely read. It is not as moving in it's beauty of language as Dharma Bums and Subteranians. But if you can't get those read this.
