Reviews by Daniel Saltzman
This is a lost classic of the 80's, an example of just how expressive claymation films can be. Yes, this is a children's film, but children will not understand everything so it offers something for older viewers as well. My favorite act was "The Mysterious Stranger".
While the specific faith chosen in this movie might not appeal to everyone, the basic idea of the movie is still solid, and the acting is quite good all around. Not the happiest movie, with a bittersweet ending, but worth watching for sure.
If you can't read German, and are at least 15, this book is highly recommended.

Princess and the Frog is NOT an original story, nor are most of the characters that great. The witch-doctor, on the other hand, is a wonderful, reasonably original villain who also happens to be a great singer.
