I've recently falling in love with the "Twelve Houses" series - the mix of magic and fantasy politics is really interesting. This one is my favorite because I've grown to love the hero, Cammon, and because in many ways it's the climax of the series.
I was kind of expecting this movie to WOW me because of the press that its second sequel got last year, but it was a bit meditative and artsy for my taste. The conversation that Jesse and Celine had was interesting, as was their relationship, but at the end of the day I didn't really like them or the story's barely-there plot.
I enjoyed this book. It changes perspective - which I normally hate, as I like one character more than the rest and want to just read his or her sections. I *almost* managed to read this entire book in order, though. Please be aware that there is some strong language in the book. SPOILER (Also there was very much unnecessary sexual tension).
This is the best book I've read in a long time. Think "The Mysterious Benedict Society" with a twentysomething protagonist on a mission.
I was sooo impressed with the scenes that the had to remake so that they matched the first movie. I hate the fact that while Jennifer gets dragged into the adventure, she is drugged during the majority of the action because Doc is dumb. Also, the new actress for Jennifer threw me a bit. It's a good movie though. Be aware of the swearing for young ears!
