Sing Down the Moon really reminded me a lot of Island of the Blue Dolphins because some parts of the stories were similar and it seemed like it was around the same period of time. If you're into historical fiction I would definitely recommend something like this to you.
This is probably one of the most oldest books that I have ever read. Yet, it is very interesting and I loved reading it. It taught me how life was like a very long while ago. It was quite interesting with some history based on the story.
The author did an excellent job of describing things and it made me definitely feel like I was there right when everything was going on. I had a lot to do with this book, doing projects on it, and watching the movie. I really started to think about animals a lot more than I did before. It was really emotional and I almost cried in some sections of the movie. I think that the book was still better than the movie in many ways, but it does help if you do both.
Reading this book really made me think about what life was like in the older days and compare it with the life that I'm living right now. There were a lot of differences, but some similarities. I really enjoyed it because it was a happy, sad, and an emotional book. It definitely made me feel like I was spoiled compared to the Watson's in so many ways.
This book is really emotion packed. I almost cried at a lot of parts. This book has to do with a lot of family, friend, and dog relationships. The biggest thing about this book was probably the fact the I want a dog more than anything right now. They are just very helpful in so many ways and I learned this from watching the movie and from reading the book.
