Maggie Smith feature
»
Not as charming and evocative as one might want, given that the rest does not add too much. Still, a Maggie Smith feature is a good idea in and of itself and the quality of the acting and production values is quite good. Fewer cringe-inducing scenes of her as a drunk would have been appreciated (nothing wrong with the acting and it was in keeping with the story, just did not add to my enjoyment).
Shooter gets the job done

While nothing new, I was pleasantly surprised. Shooter gets the job in an efficient manner without being silly or boring, (tho, maybe Danny Glover's lines go a step in that direction).
company of wolves

Old movie by people who've done better things.
Not very horrifying, some mildly intering fantasy sets. Story not trying to add up to anything. Much of it stories in stories in storiees. Not terrible, but not really worth one's time.
Resident Evil Apocalypse

Didn't get very far trying to watch this. Zombie killing. Characters appear without reason (presumably, because they were in some edition of the game). I gave up when, right after pointing out one bite dooms you in hours, Alice goes into Buffy-mode, smacking zombies in the face bare-handed. Too boring for entertainment, but is not cheaply made, so maybe as background to some other activity, it's okay. It's not like one can ask much from a zombie movie, thus the 2 stars rather than 1.
Battlestar Galactica (New) Season One, Disc 5

The single episode on this disc ends the series on a tone similar to other episodes. Expect cliffhangers rather than plot-arc wrap ups.
I reguard the season as very good, but not great. My complaint is with sometimes overly heavy emphasis (they'll say something three times in a row so even the least observant viewer has a chance to "get it") and ocasional times when characters actions lack foundation, as if important setup scenes had been left out. But overall, they take their premise seriously while reserving areas where they can have dark humor (crazy Doc. Baltar).

Disk 5 includes deleted scenes, which are worth watching, and behind the scenes stuff, which, as far as I watched it, were just pre-season promo material, so not every interesting after you've already watched the show.
