This was such a great peek into the music, the artists and the back stories of folks who cut records at Muscle Shoals. There was amazing footage of Aretha Franklin, Percy Sledge, Greg Allman, to name a few. I can't recommend this film enough. If you like music, and if you like soul music especially, you don't want to miss this film. Watch it. You won't be sorry.
Once you see the film, you'll want to listen to the CD. There are seemingly random tracks but all were produced in Muscle Shoals. Really, you have got to see the film!!
Great graphic novel that touches on family dynamics, depression, teen age angst and growing up's pit falls.
Great book. Highly recommended for readers who like memoirs, travel books or books that deal with grief and loss.
Personally, I did not find myself laughing a lot at this film, mostly because I don't find racism very funny. But the satirical aspect of being black in a white world did make its point, for sure. Worth a watch, it's not very long.
