Heartwarming and upbeat

Great stories of the ways that animals make a difference for our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the generous and courageous people who make it possible to bring these dogs and cats back to the U.S. We especially enjoyed the story of a group of young girls who initially wanted to raise the money to bring one dog back for a servicewoman, and eventually, with the help of their community, collected enough money to reunite 3 animals with their owners (once the troops returned from their tour of duty). Recommended.
Great find - 3rd in the series

A friend recently recommended "Good Girls Do" by Cathie Linz as a fun and quick read. We both breezed through that one and then "Bad Girls Don't". This is the 3rd in the series, with appearances by the fun and quirky characters introduced in the first books. I'll be reading more of Cathie's books. If you like books by Rachel Gibson, Jennifer Crusie, or Susan Elizabeth Phillips, you'll like these!
Another good one by LLM

Linda Lael Miller (LLM) writes engaging stories with likeable characters in interesting situations. This one is another of the McKettrick series, with two precocious and adorable kids you'll enjoy getting to know. Jack Garrett is an excellent narrator.
Challenging but good read

Difficult topic very well written and narrated. Interesting in that it's set in the Ann Arbor area and there are many streets, locations, etc. that will be very familiar to readers/listeners.
Needs more plot

This book could definitely be abridged - it was short on plot and long on angst. Not one of her best efforts.
