Based on the Henry James novel 'Washington Square' this is an excellent play. Father-daughter relations, failed engagements, an unloved young women, and a money hungry young man all combine for an American classic play.

This is an excellent film that was nominated for Oscars. Great performances by Meryl Streep, Diane Keaton and Leonardo DiCaprio - and based on an excellent play.
