Diana Wynne Jones is so good at making magic seem so off-handedly common that it is easy for the reader to believe the unbelievable. An exciting story with lots of surprises.
Tanaya is powerful and respected until an incident she thinks is no accident occurs (not in space or involving radioactivity btw). Part character development, part mystery, an interesting book. I hope the library gets the sequel (Suited) soon!
This book makes more sense if you read the other Christomanci books. It is interesting to see how the children sometimes work together and sometimes have fights.
Diana Wynne Jones always tells a good story. How will Heather deal with this ghostly brat?
Elda is from a family of humans and griffins. She goes to university and with her friends (and some help from her older sibling) rescues the university and set it back on course.
