In 1958 there were laws against interracial marriage. It's hard for me to believe, but impossible not to when watching this true story of a couple who fought those laws and succeeded. A well done historical documentary.
The performances in this movie by Micheal Douglas, Matt Damon, and Rob Lowe (and everyone else, but those were the stand-outs) was very, very good. I liked it so much I watched it twice.
A film well done by Sofia Coppola, based on the article and later, the book written by Nancy Jo Sales about the Bling Ring, a group of teens who easily broke into celebrity homes and stole a ridiculous amount of stuff. Features include Paris Hilton's real home which was actually burgled by the group, Emma Watson's incredible portrayal of the leader of the group, and overall a well told story of a crazy thing that really happened.
Another great family saga from Wally Lamb. The story is a lifetime of love, abuse, regret, and most of all, secrets. Centers around the high-end art world which is interesting. It's chapters are told by different characters so there is tons of perspective from all sides. I'm currently listening to the audio book and it's excellent as well.
This is one of my favorite art prints in the AADL collection. Many of my favorites are by local artist Tom Walsh. Check out the other ones for more good art!
