... then you will probably like this movie. Created by Lena Dunham (as is girls), the comedy is dark and slightly painful. I really enjoyed knowing that Lena's mother and sister in the film are her actual mother and sister. That was the best part.
I appreciated some of this movie, especially the actor who plays Evan. But the whole story is just too strange, and it is slow moving. I think it took me three sittings to get through it.
This documentary actually caused some hardship for Laura Ling, Lisa Ling's (host) sister, when she was captured in North Korea. It's interesting to see a rare look into the country that is so secluded from the rest of the world.
This is an interesting and thoughtful documentary about China's one child policy. Lisa Ling does a fabulous job hosting.
I only made it through the first ten or so pages of this book before I skipped ahead to see if the whole thing would be written in the same format, as if spoken from the girl to her kidnapper. It was, so I returned it. There's no way I could read a whole book written like that.
