Easy Historical Fiction Read
»
This is an interesting depiction of a girl who turns into a Duchess. I liked the voice of Cora and was intrigued by her plight of being thrown into high society England with little to no knowledge of the social circle. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.
Interesting Pictures of Detroit

This book is full of pictures of many of Detroit's once gorgeous buildings which are now in ruin. The photography is stunning, though haunting. It's hard to believe all of this sits untouched, and so close to home!
Great Historical Fiction
»
This is one of my favorite books- a story of what it was like for a little girl to grow up in the 1900s in China. Her story continues to adulthood. Not for the squeamish- or if you are, skip the graphic descriptions of foot binding!
True Story

This is a great true story of a girl who loses her arm to a shark while surfing. Her determination, strength, and family help her return to the waves and back to competition. I really enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone interested in true stories with amazing comebacks.
Brand at his finest

I didn't particularly care for Russell Brand before this movie, but I became a fan after viewing it. Helen Mirren is fabulous as well!
