This is another fun and clever "Olivia" book. This one includes both drawings of Olivia and her family and background photographs of scenes in Venice. A good introduction to Italy and Venice (and gelato!).
Sheep on a Ship is a rhyming book about a group of sheep that head off on their ship, encounter storms, build a raft and finallyl make it to land safely. Cute hand drawn illustrations. I didn't think the rhyming and tempo were quite as good as in Sheep in a Jeep, but still enjoyable.
This is a great alphabet book. It has a little bit of a story to it, rather than just a letter and a picture on each page. And you really get a feel for the adorable Kipper characters (if you've never seen "Kipper" check it out on Sprout Network - great preschool show!).
Like Numeroff's other books, this book follows a girl and her pig as they plan a party and end up at a street fair, playing hide and seek and having a sleepover, and before you know it, they are back to having a party. Great detailed illustrations. Try finding all of the animal friends on the hide and seek page.
This Fancy Nancy book has a bit more substance than some in the series. The book contains a lot of information about insects, birds, plants and nature. I love that even though Nancy and Bree are fancy and frilly and "girly" they aren't afraid to play outside, explore, and look at insects, birds, leaves, etc.
