I love the twilight illustrations in this book. The author captures the light qualities and colors of dusk so perfectly and it creates a beautiful backdrop for the sillouettes of the babies (and their rescuer) on their adventures. The text has a wonderful cadence. Truly one of my favorite picture books!
As a mom of a young girl, I love that this movie shows a strong, smart woman who dares to do something different in a "man's world." Great role model!
I love Christina Perri's melodies and her lyrics. I hope she comes out with a new CD soon.
It was enlightening to learn about the treatment of Jews in France during WWII but I completely agree with Caser that the author included too much additional story about Julia who ended up appearing selfish and overly dramatic.
John Updike's poems are beautiful and melodic. Each month of the year has its own poem and illustrations. I read this over and over to my son and recently pulled it out again to read to my daughter. It was like returning to an old friend.
