It was enlightening to learn about the treatment of Jews in France during WWII but I completely agree with Caser that the author included too much additional story about Julia who ended up appearing selfish and overly dramatic.
John Updike's poems are beautiful and melodic. Each month of the year has its own poem and illustrations. I read this over and over to my son and recently pulled it out again to read to my daughter. It was like returning to an old friend.
