I never intended to read this book. I had heard the hype and at first I didn't want to buy into it. But once I started reading, I really enjoyed it. Amy is an excellent writer and very open and honest about how she raised her daughters. Her approach is very different to mine (and very different from many "Western" parents). But it provides good food for thought. It made me question how I parent, how I set expectations for my children, what I do to help them succeed and what "success" ultimately means.
