If you like classical music, I think you'll love this soundtrack. The original pieces are great and the classical pieces outstanding.
This is a great book and the beginning of a wonderful series of stories about two friend, Jack Aubrey and Stephen Maturin. Set in the 1800 the two main characters meet and set-off on their adventures in the sloop-of-war, HMS Sophie. If you like sea-battles, the early 1800's, or just a great adventure, this book is for you.
The title says it all. This was an extremelly boring book. I've read several of the Patrick O'Brian, Aubrey-Maturin books. They are very well written with characters that come alive. Saying the characters were two-dimensional would be generous.
To start, this is not your standard Dracula book. The author spent 10 years conducting historical research on the subject. I found the historical references helpful and provided a great backdrop to the story. Unfortunately, the narrative did get bogged down at times with too much detail. If you want a great story to listen to, filled with interesting facts on the Balkans and the Ottoman Empire, this story is for you. If you want something fast-paced, I suggest looking for another book.
