The League of Women Voters of Michigan has released the Nonpartisan Michigan Voter Guide 2006 for the November 7th general election. The guide covers all state-level candidates and ballot proposals. In-depth analysis of ballot proposals are available from the Citizens Research Council of Michigan. New York Times Bestseller: Elizabeth Edwards

Coming in at #7 this week on the New York Times hardcover bestsellers list is Elizabeth Edwards' memoir, Saving Graces. Edwards, the wife of former vice presidential candidate John Edwards, has written a fascinating account of her life in law and politics, and an uplifting account of how she has survived both the tragic loss of her son Wade and her recent fight against breast cancer. Going to the Candidate's Debate

Voters can judge for themselves when CTN Channel 19 airs candidate debates sponsored by the League of Women Voters. On Tuesday, Oct. 17th, Ann Arbor City Council Ward 3 candidates will square off at 7 p.m. followed by Mayoral candidates at 8 p.m. On Wednesday, Oct. 18th, 18th District State Senate candidates will debate at 7 p.m. followed by the 53rd District State Representative candidates.
