Eli Gets Jiggy

by john

"Why, oh why", you ask, "would we shut down the library for a full day?"

The answer is simple. So Eli and Eric could throw down the gauntlet and finally find out who the real DDR champion is (I'm not gonna tell you.. you have to judge for yourself).

Of course, the victor got to sing his own praises, Karaoke-Revolution style, later.

You see? There are some things more important than providing a vital service to the public.

Comments

I agree. To heck with the public!!!

Now, to quote a certain message board on a popular video game help site:

NO Eli stole my lavish seat in Major Tom's signature quote. I guess I'll just have to make another quote worthy line to take back my seat.

Another NO I can't see Eli's and Eric's dance off. * goes and uses my Dad's computer*. You guys are getting pretty good, I just played a little while ago and am seriously out of shape, but why didn't you want the general public in there watching your mad skills (I would have come if I had known, [blasted insider parties] was it like an all librarian video game competition or was it some board meeting that went horribly horribly fun). Hey Gertlex is back.

Seeing <em>Serenity</em> the 2nd time allows you to get more of the jokes and makes it even better. It still gave me the chills even though I knew everything was coming. It's such a great movie and now that the Cheap Theaters are showing it you should all go see it. Just Remember "A <em>Special</em> Hell". Of course very few people would get that joke.

It was all-library-staff humiliation event! Totally fun and you all would have enjoyed laughing your &*%*$ off ;> I represented the tone deaf in a duet of Madonna's Material Girl... Some of us were blessed with tours of Zingerman's Bakehouse and Creamery earlier in the day too... It's fascinating to see how long it *doesn't* take to make a $27 coffee cake!

Judge for yourself? I beat him, fair and square. I beat him again later, and in Karaoke Revolution too!

You see, Eric? THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO AT WHICH I CANNOT DEFEAT YOU. At least at the games I deign to play. I'm sure I would get totally owned at anything involving guns. Or football. Or fighting.

<em>Judge for yourself? I beat him, fair and square. I beat him again later, and in Karaoke Revolution too!

You see, Eric? THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO AT WHICH I CANNOT DEFEAT YOU.</em>

We both know what the results were the first time we practiced. And besides, I couldn't really show up my boss in front of the entire library staff, could I? I have a feeling that would come back to haunt me come review time. =)

But yes, I must say Hail to the Victor.

/*== [:/ejk|ejk] ==*/

On a totally unrelated note, someone asked a while ago whether or not the iPod offered for one of the Grand Prizes would be a regular old one, or one of them new-fangled video-enabled ones. It would be cool if it were a new one, although that would seriously affect my grade point average due to the massive increase in practice time on SSBM and MK:DD and a serious drop in the already low category of homework/study time. Either way, I think I'm going to get one by the time two double-oh six rolls around, simply because I can then load all of my Red Vs. Blue episodes onto it and never be bored after a test again!! However, it would be nice to have the chance to win on this December, rather than beg my parents for one.

Also, is it just me, or has it gotten a lot slower around here lately, posting-wise. Not just because of Black Shark's absence, although that is a welcome change. Even so, it's still just quieter around here. Wierd.

no one is posting cuz there is nothing to talk about. lets take a poll.

Q:What is your favorite shooter?
games are:Halo, Halo 2, CS source, half life 2, call of duty 1 or 2, brothers in arms, UT 2004, battlefield 1942, battlefield vietnam, and james bond for u gamecube lovers.

i cant think of more. i guess u can choose a game thats not listed but the majority should be in the list.

[gtlogo:TMC]

I think it's a tie between Halo and TimeSplitters (which you forgot). Halo, because it's Halo, and TImeSplitters because it's the only Next-Gen FPS to actually allow you to have computer players to fight against, which is handy for those of us who have no XBox Live.

"To say that gaming is a platform-specific skill is declaring yourself a complete tool of the advertising industry." - Eli[gtlogo:VMC]

o yea i forgot that. most people like halo better cuz its for pros and the pistol is sweet and takes skill to use. halo 2 is designed to help noobs eg.dual needler=noob combo, sword=noob stick even though i like it. the updates for halo are so much better though such as more damage on melee attacks and on grenades. i like halo better as well but i dont have it i only got it for the comp.

[gtlogo:TMC]

Even though the original is better, the best Multiplayer setup in Halo 2 is Slayer on the secret Foundation level, and you set it up so that everyone <em>starts out</em> with a sword and a rocket launcher. Much chaos ensues... :-D

I also cried when I found out that they took the scope off of the pistol for Halo 2. I was so dang good with that thing...

"To say that gaming is a platform-specific skill is declaring yourself a complete tool of the advertising industry." - Eli[gtlogo:VMC]

actually i dislike swords and rockets mainly because no one will use the sword. rockets by it self on foundation is so cool though. the campaign in the first one is better but the multiplayer in halo 2 is awsome. i love doing 1-flag on zanzibar with like 8 or 12 ppl. for big team battles i would play waterworks, coagulation, or containment. one thing i disliked is that they remade battle creek, blood gultch, longest, and wizard but no hang em high?? i loved that map it was my favorite one.

[gtlogo:TMC]

Im back!
Youmacon was awsome. I saw aron (Piraty Critter) there as well. He spent most of his time in gaming tho. I spent most of my time in the dealer's room.
Waaaah, I was late so I missed the Duck hunt tourney, I also was late to the SSBM Tourney.

P.S. As for the Halo Discussion, I love the Sword-Rocket Combo because I have mastered the glitch where when you have the rocket target red then you quickly switch weapons and attack. What it does is that, well you know when you attack with the sword you lunge?, it lunges all the way across the map to hit my opponent because I have targeted him at a long distance.

In reply to by EvilBusDriver

o yea i did that once. what u do is u keep pressing Y and R switching each of ur weapons while targetted on the enemy and u lunge toward them. i did it on gravemind. u guys know how to fly with the warthog and sword?

[gtlogo:TMC]

I know, Hang 'Em High is one of the two reasons I got the original, the other one being Sidewinder. What a great level.

i didn't like that map with all the teleporters i forget the name...
i'll get a flame for this but i played the 360 at best buy and it was muy perfecto. the controller fit exactly in my hand, the graphics were sweet, the sounds were amazing and i know the first game i'm getting(call of duty 2). just like nintendo has a Z button on the GCN controller this has 2 of those.
[gtlogo:TMC]

First off, Sravan are you going to get it yourself, or are your parents going to pay for it for you? That is one big difference between middle school and high school; In middle school, parents will mostly still pay for stuff for you.

No, you won't get flamed for saying that, the Xbox 360 is going to be a really great system. Microsoft is going to sell millions of them, and the new version of Xbox Live is going to be the standard by which all other online gaming services model themselves. The reason that nobody likes Xbox is because Bill Gates is the modern-day Earth-bound incarnation of the Devil. Yes, Satan himself, is present here on Earth, in the form of Bill Gates, who could buy all of Africa if he wanted to.

Speaking about large sums of money, did you guys know that if America actually collected on all of the debts accrued during World War II by England, then America would own England. That's how much they owe us, the value of their entire country. Just some random trivia to whet your appetite on this worst day of all days, Monday.

"To say that gaming is a platform-specific skill is declaring yourself a complete tool of the advertising industry." - Eli[gtlogo:VMC]

I disagree Tom. I like Bill, but dislike X-Box. My primary reason is the games. Nintendo and Sony have a large catalog of quality games in every genre. X-Box has Halo. Now, Halo is a great game, arguably one of the best games ever, bbut I'll still take MK:DD, SSBM, Zelda, Metroid, Tales of Symphonia, Baten Kaitos, PM2, and all of the other amazing gamegube games over just Halo. Sure X-Box has other good games, but most of them aren't platform specific, like most of the sports and racing games. Nintendo has Zelda and Mario, Sony has Final Fantasy (and all the best fighting games). X-Box has Halo.

I'm not opposed to X-Box, I just don't want to pay several hundred dollars for a system that I'm only going to want 5-6 games for (On X-Box 1 those would be Halo 1&2, DDR:Extreme, Fable, Madden and racing game). Now, X-Box 360 is a different system, but I see no reason to believe that it will have many good games beyond Halo 3 and PDZ. And yes, I have read about all of the X-Box 360 launch titles.

On another note, I would only rarely buy a system on launch day. I prefer to wait for it to come out, hear others reactions to it and wait until it has a mildly large library of games. Particularly in a console war. I'm only going to be able to afford one console, so I'm waiting until the PS3 and Revolution come out and deciding between them.

"Faulheit ist eine Tugend"
[gtlogo:VMC]

leinad thats cuz microsoft made their first consule in 2001 when nintendo made it in the late 70's i think. since its been around longer it has more games. playstation 3 doesnt look as good they are just gonna make sequals to other playstation 2 or 1 games(if u see decline of videogaming there is a thing aobut this). bill is cool he donated like a couple of million towards AIDS in africa and other parts of the world. in my opinion the gamecube is the worst nintendo consule yet other then the SNES. i liked the N64 because it was the first one to have an anolog stick. GBA was cool when it came out but the SP isnt much different except its smaller and it has its own light.

my friend is not going to buy the xbox 360 on launch day instead he is gonna wait till halo 3 comes out because it might be cheaper then and he is not gonna do anything with it for 5 monthes and thats probably what i'll do. someone said that they will sell millions they will sell millions but not yet. i talked to the guy at best buy and he said that there are only 300k shiped to the US because they are releasing it worldwide on the same day and no other consule has done that before so each store will have like only 50-60 and they will be sold out in the first 10 minutes. also i asked him about christmas and he said the next shipment is smaller then the first one and its 200k so only 500k 360's will be sold before new years day.
and my parents will buy it for me with some conditions...
[gtlogo:TMC]

<em>leinad thats cuz microsoft made their first consule in 2001 when nintendo made it in the late 70's i think. since its been around longer it has more games.</em>

Okay, fine. But that's no reason to buy an X-Box. When microsoft has been making games for 20 years, I'll get back to you about the console war.

<em>in my opinion the gamecube is the worst nintendo consule yet other then the SNES.</em>

WHAT????

Again, WHAT????

The SNES was not only the best Nintendo console, it's also in my opinion tied with the PS1 for the overall best console ever. (Yes, PS2 can do everything the PS1 can and more, but I still view the PS1 as more important since it was better at its time than the PS2 was at it's time if you get what I mean.

But how can you call the SNES the worst nintendo system? What about LtoP, FFIII and Chrono Trigger? Not to mention the innumerable host of other more obscure games (teenage mutant ninja turtles was extremely fun) (Has anyone here ever played Illusion of Gaia?)

And the graphics on the SNES are amazing. Not realistic, not jawdroppingly beautiful, but they fit the gameplay. Great graphics should never subtract from gameplay, and the SNES was the master of that.

Besides the best game catalog of any system, stellar graphics, a beautiful controller, revolutionary innovations, three of the top 10 games ever made, and everything else the SNES has going for it, the sheer nostalistic value of that system is unapproachable.

Oh, and I completely forgot that Mario game that I sadly can't remember the name of right now, but it's the one with the overworld map that they remade on the GBA and is the best Mario game ever made.

Now, while I will agree with you that the Gamecube is certainly not Nintendo's best system, to hear you call the SNES the worst makes my skin crawl.

"Faulheit ist eine Tugend"
[gtlogo:VMC]

one FPS-halo, one racing game-burnout revenge. both got nominated for best game of they year in 2004 but GTA san andreas won wait thats also on the xbox too :D. i guess i can change my opinion about the SNES due to leinad's argument but i still don't admire gamecube but i do admire N64.
your're such a tool of nintendo(not leinad, duck)
[gtlogo:TMC]

Those "Best Game of the Year" nominations are first based on sales then on public opinion both of which will show slanted views. I forgot to tell you that they must be EXCULSIVE Games no cross platform and 3 is hardly 8.

HaHAHahaha calling me a tool of Nintendo, when will you have long term memory Sravan? I've already explained to you that I'm a SEGA fan more than a Nintendo Fan. The only Reason I like Nintendo over the other two companies is because Nintendo makes games for Geeks. Microsoft makes games for Frat Boys. Sony and Microsoft both have other interests then purely gaming. Microsoft wants to use gaming to control an internet like system (Xbox Live) they came in because they saw it as a way to regulate the Internet for profit. Sony has hardware to develop and can use the Playstation to partially fund component research. Sony isn't as bad as Microsoft, but it did cause a major blow to Sega and they don't make (and Import) many pure fun games so.

I believe the honourable Leinad was referring to <em>Super Mario RPG: The Legend of the Seven Stars</em>, which is truly an amazing game for an awesome console; it was a little short, maybe, but who's counting? It is, after all, ten years old!
I was not aware they had remade it; there have, I know, been two sequels for Gamecube, neither of which is as good, or as original, as the original.
Leinad, you are <em>absolutely</em> correct, while pr0 is, sadly, blinded to the truth by his bias for Microsoft. Tsk, tsk.

-----------Pickwick the Second, MP-----------

No, it wasn't Mario RPG, which I have sadly never played :-(. I'll go google it and figure out.

edit: Okay, The game I was refering to was Super Mario World :-)

"Faulheit ist eine Tugend"
[gtlogo:VMC]

Don't expect to get the Xbox 360 any time soon Sravan, unless you have a reservation you don't have a chance to get it in the first few weeks. Even if you have it reserved you stand the chance of not getting it for a few weeks due to major shortages. Plus it's $460 + 6% tax so $490 to get the (working) system and one game. $500 for something you don't know will turn out good seems like a pretty big risk to me. Oh yeah you're going to argue that it will be the greatest system ever. Ok come up with 8 great games no two of which can be in the same genre (That means only one FPS and one Racing)? If you can't find 8 then there is no chance it could be the greatest system ever already.

I hate Microsoft as a whole not the Xbox or Bill Gates as an individual. The Xbox is run by people that want to make gaming main stream. While normally I would like society accepting gaming with open arms they are not changing their attitudes about gaming. The older generation is openly opposing the institution of gaming with public media and jerks like Jack Thompson saying the rise in violence is because of gaming. I should point out that there is no rise in violence government statistics show that if anything gaming is causing less violence. Plus the new wave of gamers are more concerned about FPSs, Graphics and Physics engines then game play and storyline. You wonder why girls aren't playing videogames. Not to say FPSs are bad games but all the new gamers are coming in not willing to play adventure or plat former games. It is isolating the storyline games into a sub group of gaming culture that is almost taboo. That is why the original Xbox failed horribly in Japan. Do I have to point out Eli's statement of "To say that gaming is a platform-specific skill is declaring yourself a complete tool of the advertising industry." directly corresponds with the stereotypes that everyone thinks the Gamecube is for kids, the PS2 is only good for RPGs and the Xbox is for "Cool" Halo players. The whole market is obsessing over a small percentage of games and ignoring the greater gaming experience. It is just the same crap society always pulls. They find something they like and make it cool, but never giving credit to geeks or nerds that made it possible to have it. In 5 years if Nintendo doesn’t stay alive there will be almost nothing but M rated with a few T games unlike now where most games are E, E10 and T. My main concern is that gaming will become the current Movie industry where everything is either a bad R movie, a remake or completely unoriginal. Very few of today’s movies are any good because they shifted there focus onto the stupid and money free 16-24 year olds.

WTH Sravan the SNES Bad you've got to be kidding me. You are one of the “Best” examples of “‘Cool’ Halo Players” I’ve meet. You’re such a tool of micro soft.

I read your old post then pickwick's post. I told myself that aint right. The SNES was one of the best consoles out there by my opinion. I have played it long ago in Cali and bomberman was my fav. My best friend had the SNES and I had the SEGA Genisis. I would constantly play Sonic 2 over and over. Sonic 2 is the best SEGA game out there. And now Super Mario world. I had my own file on my friend's cartrage. That game was obviously the best SNES game. Greatest Mario soundtrack ever.
EDIT: And yes I do have the remake on my GBA.

ok.....my favorite sonic game was sonic andevture 2 battle mainly cuz its the only one i played XD. that could be a good suprise game but i think it only supports 2 players for multi player. hey duck u know that nikola guy who u wanted me and pickwick to beat. he is the actual tool of nintendo he showed me his site and all i have to say is WOW. he kept on calling my friends poser nerds i was like wtf.
o yea nintendo makes games for geeks...how do u make an argument with that?

[gtlogo:TMC]

Yes Nikola is a complete tool of Nintendo and Apple and he won't acknowledge that Macs have problems (stupid freshmen). He is just as bad as the stupid Frat Boys that only play Halo only instead of Halo he has SSBM.

Oh now here is where it's opinion. I'm a geek thus I like geek games you, Sravan, are a "Main stream gamer" thus you play whatever has the biggest hype and the <em>best</em> graphics/physics engine always trying to fit in with the cool crowd and don't know any better. <em>"There are lots of good games for the X-Box."</em>

Then, TP2, I challenge you to name 8 games exclusively for the Xbox, just like Sravan has to do. He has still merely come up with three.

I'm not going to lie, I bought an Xbox mostly for Halo 1&2. Yes, I have GTA: San Andreas, which is a cross-platformer, as is Burnout 3 (although the PS2 version has ABYSMAL load times), as is NHL 2K6 (go Red Wings). So, I just want to forestall anyone calling me an Xbox fanboy or anything. Yes, it's good for a few things, I had the money at the time, that's all.

And yes, it would be cool to work something out to play DS Wi-Fi @ the tournaments on Mario Kart.
---
"To say that gaming is a platform-specific skill is declaring yourself a complete tool of the advertising industry." - Eli[gtlogo:VMC]

k i'll name 8 games:halo, halo2,burnout:revenge,burnout 3,fable,gta san andreas, gta vice city,gta3,starwars battlefront, battlefront 2(i'm not sure if its out yet),GUN which looks good, ghost recon, battle field 2,madden series, and counter strike. thats like 20 games cuz of the madden series. leinad if u read my old post i said nintendo made consules long before xbox did so they should have more good games. yes most gamers are people who like new ideas and better graphics thats why companys make things with better graphics, physics etc. duck u are a geek so u like the old retro games i'm not saying those aren't fun but they are old and less people play them nowadays.

[gtlogo:TMC]

DS wifi, I am so geeked, Mario Kart DS in only 2 days! I would definitely like to arrange both impromptu and formal Kart DS tournaments. How many of you guys have a DS, will have Kart DS, and have access to wireless? One thing I thought would be very cool would be a real Kart DS racing league, with arranged matches at set dates and times, and you just have to get yourself to a McDonalds or a Cafe or a Library Branch (or school?) in time for your match. Everybody submits the scores on a form and we can have a season that's twice a week or more for months, with 30-40 matches to qualify for the finals. The only thing that's a little crappy is that Kart DS online is only 4-player, but it's a smart decision to avoid lag and frustration.

However, local 8-player tourneys will be awesome too. Have you heard that in battle mode, you have 5 balloons, but can only have 3 inflated at a time, and if one pops, you have to BLOW ON YOUR DS while you're driving to blow up a spare? You can hit select too if you're too cool to blow, but <em>then it takes longer</em>.

That is completely awesome.

That could be fun.4-players isn't much, but thats true, it will cut down on lag time and frustration. About blowing on your DS, thats an odd feature but that definately does show Nintendo's inovative qualities.
<hr>
[gtlogo:RED]

Hey Eli.

Actually the Target over here in South Lansing started selling it yesterday afternoon. Although I didn't mean to, I ended up playing it until 1am.

The Wi-Fi is pretty good actually. Little to no lag whatsoever. I did notice a bit when attempting to drift and speed boost, which takes a bit to get used to with the DS's directional pad. There weren't many people online last night so I played some that have had the game since 11/02 (reviewers and such). One person I played had 135 wins and 4 losses. Now he has 5 :-). I only wish that using Nintendo Wi-Fi you could actually battle people. Unfortunately the only way to play individuals is via a series of four races, and it seems by the end one or two people always drop out.

Creating your own decal is pretty neat too. If you do a google search for "Mario Kart Decal Maker," you'll find a tool that will shrink any image down to a 32 x 32 pixel, 16 bit color sprite that you can then use as a guide to create your own decal in the game.

Anyway, I like your idea of a Wi-Fi league....that is if it were to be open to individuals of all ages of course :-).

I got mario kart DS, it's sweet!the old courses are the best. my favorite is moo moo land of the N64. one of the best features is that you can play battle against coms. the missions are realy weird though. the only major con to the game is that the controls are all strange and hard to use for beginers.(even if you are good at the GC version the controls are still confusing. they have 3 new idems: bullet bill, blooper and boo. (boo was in the N64 version though) you can choose from new or original kart) the game is more like the 64 version in general but it has alot of new courses(16 i think) and 16 previous ones form the GBA, GC, N64, and the SNES versions.

P.S. eli if you did the wi-fi tournaments then i couldn't do a race at the same time as my brother because we share a DS.

"y exactallally do u thnk im so dum" [gtlogo:SDK]

i like the xbox cuz it saves me money...i only need one game(halo) and im set for life. BUT i must say, paper mario is THE most addicting game i have ever played. havent beat the final boss tho...
tom stop hitting me lol...it is too distracting...just say wassup

I am going to attend this months tourni so i wish to commentate and yeah i want a video ipod.
[img_assist|fid=97|thumb=1|alt=Trouble Monkey Clan|caption=Logo for the AADL-GT Trouble Monkey Clan.]

While it is true that Paper Mario and its sequel are addictive, they simply don't have the uniqueness that set apart their prequel, Super Mario RPG. Some of the gameplay remains similar, but the Gamecube games, which, for an unknown reason, were rendered into an extremely limiting pseudo-paper look, are beaten, graphics-wise, by the first of the series, which is rather saddening.
Not to spoil it or anything, but...the final boss is kinda easy. As in, it's hard to LOSE the battle.

Pickwick it depends on how you play the game. If you spend time just leveling up instead of having fun you'll have a hard time with the final boss.

Everyone download the Project 64 emulator.

"TORTURIS EXUVIAS EUNT"

Pickwick, I would argue that the 3d-paper look is actually far more unique than the fairly typical isometric view of Super Mario RPG. What is limiting about it? If anything, the character and level designs are far richer and more varied in Paper Mario and especially the Thousand-year door.

Ok, Sravan, You have <strong><em>THE WORST MEMORY I HAVE EVER WITNESSED</strong></em>. I told you only one FPS, Sports game, and Racing and you give me several of each. Plus everyone of those game is cross platform except one (Halo 2 {which will be on the PC in a short while}). Now you also put in games that aren't even out yet. How do you know a game is good if you can't even played it? It's like saying a game named G.O.O.D. (for Gross Old Obsolete Drapes) will be a good game just because it's named G.O.O.D. even if it's a window drapes simulator made for DOS. (Hehehe Windows Drapes {god thats such a bad joke})

Mech Assault
Mech Assault 2 Lone Wolf
Halo 2
Brute Force
Odd World Munch's Odyssey
Star Wars: Obi Wan
Blood Wake
DDR Ultramix
DDR Ultramix 2
Fuzion Frenzy
Dead or Alive 3
Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach VolleyBall
Star Wars KOTOR
Star Wars KOTOR 2

THANK YOU EVIL BUS DRIVER!!!!! i never said it was a better consule but evil bus driver convinced me that it is. better graphics, better online capability, and they are all NEW. im gonna get another flame but nintendo is losing in the consule market and might lose more cuz of that revolution controller. at least they have a shell so i can play ssbm2 online!

Well EBD It was a Challenge for Sravan but I have to hand it to you for finding 8 exculsive games of diffent genres and one exculive well we're not getting into what Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach VolleyBall is but it certainly isn't a game.

1.Mech Assault 3rdPS
2.Halo 2 FPS
3.Odd World Munch's Odyssey Adventure
4.Star Wars: Obi Wan 3rdpersonAction
5.Blood Wake Racing
6.DDR Ultramix Rhythm
7.Fuzion Frenzy Family
8.Dead or Alive 3 fighting game
<em>9.Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach VolleyBall</em>

Of coase no one that bought a Xbox for Halo would buy Fuzion Frenzy because it's rated E and very few Xbox Owners own DDR or Odd World. I knew that people could do it but I knew Sravan couldn't so that is why I told him to do it. I knew Sravan Would have no chance of getting beyond 5 genres. You had a few mistakes One being KOTOR is avialable on the PC the other being the no two games of the same Genre. You missed a few other exculsives like I think <em><strong>Panzer Dragoon Orta</em></strong> Perhaps the Game I want most on the Xbox list, Ninja Gaiden, and Sneakers (it was a Toys 'R' Us exculsive where you played a mouse).

"Round up the usual suspects."

Oh, well my sources said that KOTOR wasnt on the PC but ok. I still got more than 8 games. I only listed a few that I could think about off the top of my head. I wanted to prove Tom wrong really tho. "BECAUSE YOU CAN'T!!! BECAUSE THERE AREN'T!!!!"

Edit: What the crap are you talking about?!?!?!?!? "not getting into what Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach VolleyBall is but it certainly isn't a game." Certainly not a game?!?!?!?
Its a great "sports" game.

The manner in which you glided by without providing an answer to the following question intrigues me. What, precisely, is this "Dead or Alive Extreme Beach Volleyball," and what are your motives in concealing this information? Is it that you are illegally acquiring souls from those who end up in the former state while engaging in a match of said game?

You can always tell when Pickwick has work he's supposed to be doing, because he leaves comments scattered on open threads throughout the site like breadcrumbs left by Hansel and Gretel whilst suffering from Vestibular Disorders.

Oops... caught red-handed!! Yes, you're quite right; whenever I have homework the completion of which takes me into the morning hours, I have a deplorable tendency to vary my focus a little more than maximum efficiency would demand. This often involves rapid transitions from subject to subject and the occasional visit to this and another forum, the 'Perplex City' portion of the 'unfiction' site. In my defence, I do make a credible attempt to keep posts made during these hours rather brief: within two minutes of typing length. This is in stark opposition to the standard time elapsed ere the end of a long Pickwick post, which may be upwards of an hour or two.

Homework.................................................
Tonight looks to be about the same schedule for me. Expect to see more posts at unCatly times in the morning!!
Oh, and would you mind catching a few extra hours of sleep? I'm not going to use mine, but I don't want them to go to waste...Thanks!

Edit: But that <em>doesn't</em> answer for both of the parties involved in the enquiry. I can guess that Eli was up working on something related to the GT, though only he has the power to confirm that speculation.

Just for the record, Sunday night through Monday morning was spent frantically preparing for an Argumentation presentation on...guess what topic!!!
