Sancho's Scene: Community Events that Wander off the Path

by Sancho Panza

Saturday, July 7 is going to be a big day. According to theknot.com, more than twice the usual number of “knottie” weddings (12,000 on a typical July Saturday) are scheduled to take place. And, while couples around the world are snagging a pretty cool anniversary date, an organization called Live Earth plans to hold concerts on seven continents in an effort to combat the global climate crisis. A freshly minted Ann Arbor organization, Aero Global Warming is hosting an official Friend of Live Earth event at Palmer Field this 07/07/07. Check it out—bands will be playing from 1-9, and the event features a plasma screen display of the other concerts taking place all over the world.
