L.A. Banks, a science fiction and fantasy author so prolific that she wrote under five separate names for five major publishers, died yesterday in Philadelphia.
Known best for her Vampire Huntress Legend series and another featuring werewolves, Crimson Moon, Ms. Banks also wrote graphic novels, mysteries, and romance. One of the most popular of the Vampire Huntress books is The Awakening, in which Damali Richards, vampire huntress, desperately battles rogue vampire, Fallon Nuit, in order to avert a vampire civil war.
Ms. Banks, who was 51, died of advanced adrenal cancer.
