The experience of slaves traveling along the Underground Railroad to freedom is told with few words in Underground by Shane W. Evans. The tension and joy of the journey are artfully crafted in this elegant picture book. Dark lined illustrations depict a child’s eye view of hiding in the night.

This would have been a great book for the Preschool/Summer Day camp I used to do in my neighborhood. Also maybe I could use this to get my little sister interested in history.

It would be nice if the "Underground" link went directly to the book record instead of a catalog search for that word, since the book in question doesn't even appear on the first page of results. However, I was able to find it quite quickly by following the author link. Thanks for bringing our attention to an intriguing book!
