HP and the Deathly Hallows Part Two!

by evelyn

The time of the last Harry Potter movie is almost upon us! On Friday (or Thursday at midnight for those fans who are really dedicated), the second part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be released.

The release of this last movie gives Harry Potter lovers a whole new event to celebrate (and the last, at least until Pottermore is up and running).

Our copies of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, Part One are all checked out, but that doesn't mean you're out of Harry Potter options!

The library owns 66 copies of the book Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows and although excitement is at a fever pitch, as of this writing four of those copies are still available. We also have plenty of other Harry-related items: over 200 of them! So get to reading, watching or listening, and enjoy the last movie!

cool

I can't get enough Harry...it's so seldom that something is this well written and that a narrative world has so much depth to it from the very start. Harry Potter is incredible, and I think it will be some time before Rowling's phenomenon is matched either in sheer talent, execution, or popularity.

I'm so excited for the movie! Watching the trailer only made me more geeked. I recently listened to the BOCD of book 7, and I plan to watch Part 1 of the movie again tomorrow night. All in preparation for Friday's movie release. I figure with this being the last movie, I better be fully prepared and make it a complete experience. hp4eva.

You might also try some books and series similar to Harry Potter:

[a:Pullman, Philip|Philip Pullman]'s [b:1110653|The Golden Compass] (#1 His Dark Materials series) has copies in as of this writing, as do [a:Nix, Garth|Garth Nix]'s [b:1220824|Mister Monday] (#1 Keys to the Kingdom series) and [a:Riordan, Rick|Rick Riordan]'s [b:1248850|Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief] (#1 Percy Jackson and the Olympians series). You can find even more in one of our many [http://www.aadl.org/user/lists/4002|public lists].

I'll be one of those die hard fans at the midnight show (with my 10 year old). I don't know who is more excited - my son or me! I'm sad that this is the last movie (and last book) but both the movies and the books can be enjoyed multiple times. Truly magical!

Thanks for the link to the "If You Like Harry Potter" list - I'm always looking for more suggestions to keep my son interested in reading. He liked the Percy Jackson series but (having read it with him) it will not be as satisfying to adults. Not as detailed or complex or well-written. But a good alternative for upper-elementary through teens. He also enjoyed the Gregor and the Underland series.

So excited! Also, I can't believe the library owns 66 copies. Are there that many copies of ANY other book?

Awesome!

Alot of my friends are going to the midnight showing. I was going to go but my friend asked for me to see it with them later. And so I wait a few more hours but my excitement will get to a higher level when we get to the theater! I can not wait! :)

I'm excited to see the movie tonight. It is almost 10 years to the month since I read my first Harry Potter book.

I saw it, and it was the BEST MOVIE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

awesome! cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My son hasn't discovered Harry Potter yet but he's a voracious reader. Good for him that he won't have to wait between installments

Teh last movie was great though I wish it was longer. The scene in Bellatrix vault is really cool!
