Poet Chronicles Motherhood

by annevm

A new volume of poems about motherhood, The Second Child: Poems, is just out from Deborah Garrison and is reviewed this week in The New York Times Book Review. Garrison was born in Ann Arbor, went to Brown University, and worked for 15 years on the editorial staff of The New Yorker. Currently she is an editor for several publishing companies and lives with her husband and three children in northern New Jersey. I admired her earlier poetry collection, A Working Girl Can’t Win, and am eager to read her latest.
