Language Development Is Child's Play

by hillary dorwart

Interested in gaining language learning skills that you can use with your child? As a parent or caregiver, you are the most influential supporter of a young child's development. Encouraging speech and language can be as simple as a game, a song, or a story! A child's speech and language development begins at birth - so it's never too early to start.

This presentation, co-sponsored by the UM Institute For Human Adjustment, features Beth Salz, M.S., CCC-SLP, who will address typical language development and provide practical strategies for supporting a child's language development during play and daily routines.

Beth is the Associate Clinical Services Manager at the University Center for the Development of Language and Literacy, where she is the lead speech-language pathologist in an intensive language program for toddlers and preschool-aged children.
