Happy Birthday, Jeff Bridges!

Today is the 61st birthday of actor Jeff Bridges. Bridges has had a prolific career, with appearances on both a list of youngest nominees for academy awards (actors in a supporting role, 10th youngest for 1971’s The Last Picture Show) and a list of oldest winners (leading actors, 7th oldest for Crazy Heart in 2009). He also makes humanitarian efforts, most recently acting as spokesperson for a national campaign focused on ending childhood hunger. Bridges will be back in theaters in thirteen days with TRON: Legacy, a long-simmering sequel to Disney's TRON. Back in 1982, TRON was the first film to feature extensive use of CGI. Yes, our favorite explosions and blue creatures got their start with the lowly bit character pictured to the left.
