Quick Breads with Keegan Rodgers

This event is intended for grade 6 - adult

Keegan C. Rodgers, Head Baker at the People's Food Co-Op, leads this hands-on and lively workshop on how to make quick breads.

Quick breads are a great way to take advantage of summer's fruit and vegetable bounty. Banana and zucchini are the most well-known but peaches, pears, blueberries, and pumpkin all make great quick breads. Learn some new techniques and recipes.

This event is in partnership with the People's Food Co-Op and is part of an ongoing baking series.

I'd never thought of making bread with pears before; it'll be interesting to learn more about some quick bread methods that I haven't tried.

Are they called quick breads because they bake quickly, or because preparation time is short before popping them in the oven? (I'm totally in the dark when it comes to baking!!)
