Jake was who went to Denver Middle School. It was 10:00pm and he had just finished watching The Denver Broncos lose to the Kansas city chiefs eliminating any chance at going to the playoffs. He flicked off the TV. Then his phone buzzed it said Ella he picked it up. She said

“Hope it's not too late,did you see the game?”

“Yeah. Sad we defending champs and we can’t even make it to the playoffs.” said Jake

“Wanna meet at the slopes saturday?” said Ella

“Yeah why not.” said Jake

Friday went by normal. Jake took his science test. When he got home he said Hi to his dad Cameron Jonston then went to his room and called his step dad Sam Jonson. His dad Cameron Jonston was a wide receiver for the Denver Broncos and his step dad Sam Jonson played for the Kansas city Chiefs and was there starting Quarterback.

On saturday Jake met Ella at the slopes then he went down his favorite run THE LAST CHANCE it was a double black diamond. At the end of the day he went down Deer’s Hollow he did a jump and as he was landing he hit a patch of ice and started falling backwards he landed hard and felt a sharp pain in his leg and shoulder. He woke up in the hospital his mom told him he broke his collarbone and his femur. That afternoon they let him out of the hospital. At school everybody wanted to sign his cast.

That weekend he flew out to Kansas City. On saturday he spent most of the time relaxing in bed. Then sunday he and his step dad went the field really early. Kickoff was noon. At noon his step dad ran onto the field first. From there the game went down hill. At the half the score was Steelers 42 Chiefs 0. On the Chiefs opening drive at the start of the second half they scored and got the two point conversion to make it 42-8 and the Chiefs kept on rolling from there. With two seconds left in the game the score was 42-40 Steelers but the chiefs were on the Steelers 15 yard line and they lined up to take the field goal. It was up it hit the left upright then the right and in. THE FIELD GOAL WAS GOOD. An incredible comeback by the Chiefs. That night Jake flew home. When he got home he turned on the TV to see what happened in the Broncos game. When he turned to ESPN it was talking about the Broncos but not the game. It was talking about his dad and when jake heard this he broke into tears. They had said “He lived such a good life and had a great career.”

Then Jake said “Hey mom you might want to come look at this.”

The next morning jake turned to ESPN and found out what happened in the game. The Broncos lost to the Patriots 49-0 and that Jake’s dad had been shot in the locker room two hours after the game had ended and there had been to cameras or team members to see who it was. It was clear that no one had a good idea of who it was because the main suspect was Tom Brady but Tom Brady’s defense was he was at home by then. At breakfast his mom told him that two weeks after the funeral they were going to move to Kansas City with Jake’s step dad. At school Jake’s dad dieing so it was a rough week at school. Jake got the day of school for his dad’s funeral but even if he hadn’t been there he could have recorded it on ESPN. In all the chaos Jake had forgotten that the Broncos were playing Kansas City in Denver and that Jake was going to the game. He couldn’t wait to see his step dad play.

That friday after school he went to the doctor and got the cast around his neck taken off but the cast on his leg had to stay on. After that he texted Ella if she wanted to come to the game. She said that she was busy then. The sunday came fast. The game was pretty close in the first half but it was Kansas city leading at the half 64-63 and in the second half both teams kept on racking points up but Kansas city was the eventual winner 128-126 the world’s highest scoring game. That was the last game of the season for the Broncos but is was a close one and Kansas city’s next game was in two weeks because they got a first round bye. The next morning there was a new suspect list for the killer of Jake’s dad at the top was the head coach of the Broncos. But no one really thought any of the suspects were possible. That night Jake was lying on his bed and his mom came in and told that he should start packing his room up because they were moving this weekend. After she left Jake remembered that his school had the next two days off so he texted Ella if she wanted to hang out then. The next day Ella asked Jake what he wanted to do.

“Oh I have an idea.” said Jake

Then he called for a taxi to take them to the stadium because last night Jake had found a key to the Denver locker room so he decided that they were going to investigate the crime scene. Denver had set up a special locker room for the players for the Kansas city game. When they got in there was a Denver player standing there he said “How did you get in ah never mind you're his son right.”
“Yeah” Jake said

The player said that he was watching film when he heard screams. Then something clicked in Jake’s mind.

He said “Ella come with me.”

Then he went to the security room and looked at the film from the locker room the Jake’s dad was killed. He saw what he wanted to see someone came in with a gun and shot Jake’s dad. Now all he needed was to figure out who it was. He watched the film again and saw that the person was wearing an old timey Broncos jersey. The Ella said that the person looked like the defensive coordinator. Jake looked at the film of the game and saw that the defensive coordinator did look like he was wearing an old timey Broncos jersey. Later that day he told his mom who called the police. They said that they agreed and they would arrest him. Later that day Jake turned on ESPN and found out that player they had seen was killed. About two minutes after that a story came up that the defensive coordinator of the Broncos had been arrested and charged of murder.

That weekend Jake and his mom moved out to Kansas city where they met Jake’s step dad. That week Jake went to his new school and by the end of the first week he had already made four new friends. The Chiefs won that weekend but lost to the Patriots who ended up winning the super bowl. Three weeks after the super bowl they let the Broncos defensive coordinator out of prison because he was not the killer a FAN was.
