Today, Chase Parker gave me his actual cell phone number in front of our whole math class. He is probably the dreamiest guy in the whole seventh grade. I mean, besides Timmy Brown. He is a literal God sent down from outer space or wherever. But Chase is a really close second. I don’t know if this is fate or not yet, but time will tell.

“Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God!” I screamed into the phone.

“What?” my best friend Steph asked me.

“The hottest guy in the seventh grade gave me his number.”

“Timmy Brown?” she questioned.

“Okay, second hottest.”

“Jack Roberts?”

“Ew are you kidding me, I hate him.”

“Umm, Chase Parker?”

“Yup.”

“Oh my God i’m so happy for you,” she exclaimed “When’s the wedding?”

“Shut up, he only gave me his number, and I haven’t even texted him yet.”

“Well that sounds like a ‘you’ problem.” she responded sassily.

Before I could get another word out she hung up on me.

I chuckled to myself for a bit.

I think i’m going to wait for him to text me first.

Chase

Today in math class, my friend Timmy dared me to give Alexis Harris my phone number.

She’s nice I guess so I didn’t really mind.

I’m a little nervous that she’ll think it means more than it actually does.

To be completely honest, i think Jack likes her.

Not Jack Conner, but Jack Roberts. He’s always mean to her but it’s just because he doesn’t know how to express himself i guess.

Jack hasn’t talked to me since so i’m pretty sure my accusations are right.

I mean it was only a dare.

My phone buzzed on my lap. It was just Timmy tagging me in some memes on instagram.

I was a little nervous that it’d be Alexis.

What have I gotten myself into?

Alexis

7th block is literally killing me.

I have gym right now and in a few minutes i’m gonna have to see Chase.

Hopefully he doesn’t breathe out of his nose when he talks to me.

Correction- IF he talks to me.

I don’t know if I can be in the same room as him.

I mean, he’s just so pretty looking, and he always smells so freaking good.

Not that I smell him all the time, it’s just when he walks by, his aura is just so clean and I love it.

The bell is gonna ring any minute and i’m so unprepared for the next 45 minutes.

Chase

I walked into math class and completely forgot about Alexis.

Is that bad?

I mean I just forgot about the whole new friendship thing.

She just had gym and i’m confused on how she looks so, good.

Most of the kids after gym smell, and look crazy but she still managed to look really pretty.

I looked at her and waved.

She gave me a small smile in return.

It was kind of cute.

I think she’s blushing now.

Wait, am I blushing?

Nah, guys don’t blush.

Alexis

I got to class early and sat down in my seat.

I attempted to make myself look as decent as possible so i didn’t embarrass myself infront of Chase and all his friends.

He looks so hot today oh my goodness.

I bet he smells good too.

I think he caught me staring at him so he gave me a small wave.

I started blushing and smiled back at him.

He got a little red and turned back to his friend group, probably embarrassed by talking to me.

I giggled to myself and turned back to Stephanie who was now sitting in the desk in front of me.

“Damn girl, now you’re starting to stare.” she exclaimed.

“Just look at him, how could I not.”  I gazed over my shoulder just to catch him doing the same.

The eye contact lasted for only a few moments before we both chuckled and returned to our friends.

Talk about awkwardness.

I just wish he would come over and talk to me.

Chase

Math class is a total bore.

All we do is talk about fractions.

We’re just going over some pretty difficult stuff but Alexis seems to know every answer.

I’m always surprised by that girl.

I found myself looking at her every once in awhile.

She’s really smart when it comes to math.

Oh god she caught me, what do I do?

She gave me a friendly smile, and I returned one to her.

We went back to our work.

Maybe giving her my number wasn’t the worst thing in the world.

Alexis

“Okay class before you leave i’m assigning you a partner for the in-class project.” Ms. Peters explained.

“I’m going to walk around the room with a bucket that has popsicle sticks in it, each one has a name of someone in the class on it. Whoever you pick is your partner, and under no circumstances will there be any complaining or switching.”

The whole class groaned loudly.

I chuckled a bit as kids picked up popsicle sticks and read the names on them.

Some got lucky, and some did not.

Stephanie picked Jack Roberts.

I feel bad for her since he kinda sucks.

Chase was next to pick, He pulled the stick and smiled when he read the name;

“Alexis”

Chase

These stupid group projects never work out well, but I normally get decent grades on them so it’s not that bad.

It was my turn to pull out a stick.

I reached in and shuffled around a bit.

I can tell Ms. Peters is getting impatient so I grabbed the one on top.

I smiled a little bit when I read the name.

“Alexis.” I spoke out.

I could tell she was blushing and it was pretty cute.

She’s pretty cute.

I found myself staring again.

But this time she was staring back.

The bell interrupted our awkward staring contest.

Gosh darn A lunch bell

Alexis

When Chase called my name, I was honestly surprised.

Out of all the people he happened to chose me.

This is wack.

He’s just soooo dreamy.

I think I might cry tears of joy.

I’m so embarrassing oh my god.

This is why no one likes me .

Chase

Alexis and I have been going back and forth on what our project is gonna look like. She’s kinda cute when she’s annoyed. She just won’t pick a stupid color for the border. I told her blue would look nice but she doesn’t care that much.

Blue would look nice on her.

I just wish she’d stop stressing and chill out a bit.

Alexis

Chase is a smart guy, don’t get me wrong, but when it comes to book smarts, not so much.

We’ve been arguing for over fifteen minutes on what color the border of our poster is gonna be. He’s cute but a little annoying sometimes. I just wish he would sit there and look pretty while I do the work. I’m just kind of ready for this day to end.

Chase

I wish Alexis would let me help.

She just keeps stressing herself out and I hate seeing her annoyed.

Class ends soon and I’ve barely helped with this project.

I need to try harder to impress her if I really want to make her mine.

Alexis

“Chase can you get me a glue stick please?” I asked him politely.

“Sure thing babes.” he winked.

If we hadn’t been arguing this whole class, i’d be super giddy right now. The way he calls me cute nicknames is sweet but now that i think of it, it’s kind of weird with our teacher being only a few desks away.

“Here ya go.” he said as he handed me an Elmer’s glue stick.

“Thanks.” I smiled at him.

“What do you need the glue for?” He asked.

“I’m just gluing down pictures.”

“What kind of pictures?”

“Graphs.” I stated impatiently.

“Ohhh, okay.” he mumbled.

He stopped talking after that and i was pretty relieved, I didn't mean to be rude but he’s just bugging me way too much.

The bell is going to ring any minute so I need to just pack up, go home, and then nap.

Chase

I’m currently sitting in my room, bored out of my mind.

My friends all have sports after school and i’m stuck doing nothing.

I should’ve never quit soccer.

I pull out my phone and scroll through my apps.

I played candy crush for a good twenty minutes before getting stuck on level 34.

I can’t get this girl out of my head.

“Hey,” I typed into the message bar.

I just want her to be as crazy about me like I am about her.

Alexis

My phone kicks on with a flash of light, waking me from my sleep.

“1 new message notification” it read.

I unlocked my phone and opened the app.

Chase texted me.

Chase:

“Hey.”

Alexis:

“Um, hey?”

Chase:

“Whatcha doin’?”

Alexis:

“I was sleeping lol.”

Chase:

“Ohh, sorry for waking you.”

Alexis:

“It’s alright, what’d you need?”

Chase:

“I just wanted to chat lol.”

Alexis:

“Ohh okay, I thought you needed something.”

Chase:

“I just wanted to talk to you babes.”

Alexis

That boy is clingy.

I decided to just leave him on read, to maybe hint that I’m not interested in texting him late at night.

He’s kind of getting on my nerves now.

I just wish he would’ve stayed that dreamy guy that glanced at me from afar, leaving me wondering, you know?

I don’t even think I have a crush on him anymore, it’s just that he’s too… obsessive.

What have I gotten myself into?

Chase

Alexis stopped answering me after I called her “Babes”. I knew it was a bold move but I didn’t think she’d ignore me completely. Hopefully I didn’t mess up my chances, and she just fell asleep or something. I mean, I was the one who woke her up in the first place. I just don’t understand why she can’t just tell me what her feelings about me are.

Alexis

Is it bad that I don’t want to go to math class today?

It’s crazy to me that the boy of my dreams turned out to be super annoying.

Stephanie thinks he likes me but I don’t think so.

Either way, I don’t want to lead him on.

Chase

Class starts soon and I can’t seem to find Alexis.

I really hope she’s not sick today.

I mean it is the last day of the projects.

Meaning I won’t have another excuse to work with her after this.

Maybe I should tell her how I feel?

Alexis

I’ve decided to take my sweet time walking to class today.

I have a note and everything, I just need to change the time on it.

Luckily it’s written in pencil.

I’m just not ready to deal with Chase yet.

I’m so over him.

I am disappointed that things turned out this way.

But hey, it was fun while it lasted.

I think I was just using Chase as a gateway to Timmy.

I’ve liked Timmy since the third grade.

I hope Chase won’t hate me if I tell him the truth.

Chase

Alexis is finally here and we’re back in work mode. I’m glad she isn’t sick, ‘cause that would suck. I think at the end of the day i’m going to tell her how I really feel, and maybe even ask her on a date or something. My mom could drop us off at the movies or the mall or someplace cool. I hope she’ll say yes.

“Chase could you get me a protractor?” She asked calmly.

“Sure thing my lady.” I winked at her.

It took me a while to find the protractor, since I don’t really know what one looks like. My teacher helped me find a clear one. I walked back over to our desks as swiftly as I could.

“Here you go my dear.” I handed her the math tool.

“Thanks.” she mumbled.

After a few moments of hard concentration, she looked up at me.

“Chase?” she asked.

“Yeah?”

“Can I ask you something?”

My heart started racing.

Maybe this is where she confesses her love for me.

I gulped loudly.

“Yeah sure.”

“Umm, could you give me Timmy Brown’s phone number?”
